Just what I needed February 19, 2008

I have been looking for a good recipe binder for a long time. I wanted one with pages that allowed me to see both the front and back of the recipe cards (so I would not have to remove them to make a recipe). This one fits the bill! The pages are nice, heavy-duty plastic that is easy to clean. The 4x6 size gives enough room on the card to write most recipes by hand. I like the style of this particular binder, as it goes with the overall theme of my kitchen. The only thing that would make it better was if the page dividers were not pre-printed. It would be nice to be able to make the category designations on my own. For instance, it has a "dairy/egg" category, when I would much prefer a "breakfast" category. However, I suppose I can get some labels and re-label the dividers myself (just not so cute). Also, the picture in the middle of the binder is a tad flimsy (there is a hole through the binder there and the picture covers that hole -- looking "framed" by the binder). I like the look, but I worry someone will poke a finger through the picture. I'm going to get a sheet of thin plastic, cut it to size, and place it on top of the picture (I think it will slip right in, fitting under the edges of the binder) to reinforce it.
